Three strikes?

I will never understand protests. Never.

In the history of anything, has any policy ever changed because of a protest? Did any congressman change his mind because of people standing on the courthouse steps? no. It's a good thought, I suppose. Everyone ganging together to stand in the road.

This isn't long. I hope someone will read it and explain to me why people like to protest stuff.

  1. I have an idea. I think people want to be heard and feel the only way is by being in a crowd that attracts attention. It can feel so helpless to feel an injustice and not be able to do anything about it. People of like minds band together for support and to assure themselves they are not alone in their thinking. I don't know that it is productive but I don't think that is the point. People want to matter and they want to be heard. When a government tells you they are doing something for your own good, but you can't see the good in it, you want to protest. When the world doesn't make sense you want to protest. Even babies leaving the mother's womb, protest at the injustice of leaving that 98.6 degree warmth for the shock and discomfort of 70 degrees. Later, when it is 98.6 degrees outside in the Summer, we crave 70 degrees. Just shows we are never satisfied with what is and always looking for what might be. Helpless....I don't know, dependent.....probably, frustrated....usually. I know this doesn't explain protesting but I enjoyed the exercise.
